The Developer Collective: How to be an Architect Developer

The series of events by The Developer Collective is aimed at architects who would like to know more about the opportunities and challenges around developing small sites, including spotting creative solutions that a traditional developer will often miss.

Five architects will explore the many different issues the architect developer must overcome from finding land to raising money.

Upcoming Events:

Thursday 25 May

Architect Alex Wright, Nelson Wright, will discuss Leybourne Road, two houses he and his partner, Chelsea Nelson, built in Leytonstone, east London and their next development, in Peckham, south London.

Thursday 29 June

Architect John Smart, Craftworks, will discuss how he finds sites and how to build effectively. Smart bought his first site in 2004 and now has a pipeline of 20 sites which he is building out. Although he resists being called an ‘architect developer’, his practice Craftworks is purely focused on development and finding new opportunities.
