The Way to B
A series of workshops in partnership with Mula Shaker and Nub, brought to you by The Building Society.
Across the Built Environment we are all ever-mindful of the impact our buildings and spaces have upon the planet and the communities who rely on them to improve their lives. We also understand the responsibility we have as businesses to cater for the demands our employees, who now quite rightly, expect more from us. Building a sense of purpose that’s grounded in B Corporation status is a great way to solving some of these issues. Furthermore, we know that being a ‘good business’ often makes for good business.
The Building Society is a physical expression of this way of thinking. Created with a purpose to bring together like-minded talents across the industry in a spirit of collaboration. Here, we’re excited to be able to educate and inspire those interested in B Corp with the help of our team of experts. It’s important for us that this is not just an exercise in status or certification, but a means to connect B Corp to both brand purpose and business – in order to achieve the greatest impact both commercially and ethically.
Watch our launch event where we heard from James Ghaffari, Director at B Corp UK, who outlined B Corp certification and how it provides businesses with a framework to balance purpose and profit. Joining him was Kate Mills from Ward Williams Associates (a construction and built environment consultancy who are the first Chartered Surveyors in the world to become an accredited B Corporation) and our B Corp series organisers: Lisa Drake from Elliott Wood/Nub and Gina Mula from Mula Shaker.
